Acting today, impacting tomorrow
Since its establishment over a decade ago, Bustan Thom has become an inspiration for thousands of sustainability advocates who have visited. In practice, Bustan Thom embodies the principle of social responsibility for the benefit of a better society.
Due to the ongoing situation in Israel, where we are facing a prolonged conflict and uncertainty about what lies ahead, Bustan Thom continues its efforts for the benefit of displaced residents, both from the north and the south.
Additionally, we are strengthening and empowering our large community of volunteers through training, nature therapy, proactive activities, and contributions to the community.
Some of our volunteer students serve in the military, and we support and assist them.
We are happy to report a nice growth and an in number of visitors, particularly of educational institutions, some 20% of them cater to special needs students and youth at risk.
In 2022, we had 7,200 visitors. In 2023, expect 9,000.
Due to the war, we operate in a special format, hosting groups of displaced residents and vulnerable populations.
Since the beginning of our journey, we have been accompanied and supported by many partners from various industries and sectors. They have contributed their time, talents, and financial resources to advance the educational messages and activities related to sustainability and the environment.

Since its establishment a dozen years ago, Bustan Thom has become an inspiration for thousands of sustainability ambassadors who have visited it. The Bustan (orchard) upholds in practice the principle of social responsibility for the benefit of a better society.
Bustan Thom tells of the choice the Farkas family made to follow in the footsteps of their son, the late Captain Thom Farkas, an Israeli Air Force pilot who was killed in the Second Lebanon War. Thom was willing to do anything for the security of all citizens of the State of Israel. The activity in the Bustan (orchard) symbolizes the continuity of life and the contribution of Thom and other soldiers to the existence of the State of Israel.

The purpose of this fundraising campaign is to broaden and make our meaningful activities accessible to various target audiences, with the aim of influencing and changing the society and environment in which we live.
